"Perry A. Bowles, 87. of Coon Branch, near Iaeger, died this morning of old age and complications.
"He was born March 5, 1865, in Giles County, Va., a son of R. C. and Haley Bowles. He moved to the Iaeger
area about 1885 and began work for the Ritter lumber company.
"Survivors include his widow, Liza; five sons, Charlie of Glen Alum; James , of Bradshaw; Alfred of Long Bottom;
Vernal of Raysal; and Robert of Coon Branch; four daughters, Mrs. Loraine Fodge of Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Eliza
Hatfield, of Iaeger; Mrs. lena Day, of Big Four; and Miss Nora Bowles of Iaeger; two brothers. Luther Bowles of
Iaeger; and Frank Bowles, of Indian Creek, near Pineville; and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Burns of Peterstown and Mrs.
Josie Altizer, of English.
"The body will be removed from Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger to the residence on Tuesday afternoon. Funeral
rites will be conducted there at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. John Hagerman, of Oakwood, Va. Burial will follow
