"Nelson Avery Lane, 63, of Bud Mountain, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 18, 2016 at home following a sudden illness."Born March 22, 1953 at Mullens, he was the son of Laura Irene McComas-Lane (B. 1927) and the late Mart "Papaw" Lane (1928-2013).
"Nelson was a former employee for the Wyoming County Board of Education having last worked for Mullens Elementary School. He was a retired coalminer, member of UMWA, and was a member of the Mullens Wesleyan Church and also attended the New Hope Baptist Church, Mullens. In his leisure he enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, and was an avid West Virginia fan.
"In addition to his father he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, best friend, and soul mate, Deborah Sue Hale-Lane (Deceased); and one infant sister, Mary "Jane" Lane (1968-1968).
"Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Laura Irene McComas-Lane of Bud Mountain; was the proud and encouraging father of his children, Misty Dawn Lane of Southaven MI and her companion Carlos Adkins, and Bradley Mart Lane of Princeton; one sister, Rachel Lane-Bender (B. 1961) and her husband Thomas Bender of Virginia; seven sister-in-laws; two brother-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.
