Born Aug 31, 1930, in Virginia, he was the son of the late Claude S. and Mary E. Marshall Mankins. Mankins was a lifelong resident of Lewisburg, a member of the Church of Incarnation, Episcopal in Ronceverte and was a self-employed bookkeeper. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Dayton, Marvin, and Ray Mankins. Survivors include his significant other, Carolyn Mankins and her daughters, Angie and Alyssa Mankins all of Lewisburg; two daughters, Kerry Mankins of Charlotte, NC and Kelly Stuck of North Cumberland, PA; three sons, Rocky Mankins and Shane Mankins both of Spartanburg, SC and Geoff Thomas of Charlotte, NC; five brothers, Walter L.
