"Edward Preston Sizemore, Jr., 92, went to his heavenly home on March 31, 2018 in the presence of his loving family.
Born on May 14, 1925, he was a son of the late Edward Preston and Peggy Jane Green Sizemore.
He was an active member of the Pen Ridge Baptist Church as long as health permitted. He was an avid hunter who raised and loved his beagles. He was a simple man who loved the outdoors. He loved helping anyone in need. He was a man who loved God and lived his life faithfully. He was a member of the UMWA for many years. He was an ordained minister of the Old Regular Baptist Association. He was a Golden Eagle member of the NRA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Steele Sizemore; 14 of his siblings; a son, Randall Preston Sizemore, a daughter in law, Ella Sizemore; and a grandson, Derrick Hairston.
Left to cherish his memory are his: Wife: Barbara Willien Sizemore, of the home, who was the love of his life. 5 children: Joan Harsanyi and John ,Sandra Counts and Rick, Twin sons, Dwight Sizemore and Brenda ,Dwane Sizemore, Julia Peery and Jesse. Beloved sister in law: Ruth Hawkins. 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, Sister: Mary Brimm of Detroit, MI. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended that he adored
Special friends: Danny Smith, Larry Roberts, Jack Hager, Don Clark, earl Horne, among others
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Roberts and Elder Ralph Steele officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where grandsons and great grandsons, and family, will serve as pallbearers...."
