"Reverend Nathaniel E. Burroughs Sr., who resided in Princeton, WV, and a long time resident of Kimball, WV departed this life early on Wednesday, in Princeton Community Hospital. He was born in Superior, WV, and the son of the late Frank R. Burroughs Sr., and Cleo Josephine Shade Steptoe. He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Kimball. He was a graduate of Kimball High School and a Veteran of the U. S. Army. Upon being called to Pastor, he had served at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Thorpe, WV for 29 years. He faithfully served as the moderator of the Flat Top Association, President of the Flat Top Ministers and Deacons Union. He also served on the Churchmanship Committee, the Executive Board for the WV Baptist State Convention and was Researcher for the State Congress of Christian Education. After retiring from the coal mines, he was employed and retired from Welch Community Hospital as a certified nurse's assistant. While living in Kimball the greater part of his life, he had served as a councilman-at-large for the town and was an active member of the Mercer Co. Veterans Association. Nathaniel enjoyed spending time with his family, both studying and preaching God's Word and sports. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Ranessa Baker, one great-granddaughter, DeNeisha Hale; two sisters, Rosie Baker and Dora Wormley; two brothers, Richard and Frank Burroughs Jr. Nathaniel leaves cherished memories to his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Alexander Burroughs; two daughters, Cheryl (Bobby) Saunders of the home and Carolyn (Joseph III) Hayes of Premier, WV; three sons: Timothy (Martina) Alexander of Jamestown, NC, Nathaniel (Jasmine) Burroughs Jr. of Princeton and Jonathan (April) Burroughs of Huntington, WV; two grandchildren who were always available to help out, Cherelle (Cedric) Thomas of Princeton and Joseph "JoeJoe" Hayes IV of Premier; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; one sister, Sharon Barnett of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother-in-law, Ray Baker of Welch, WV; his in-laws: Constance Sales, Danielle and Lola Alexander all of Cleveland, OH; Edward Alexander of Bluefield, WV, Robert (Kelly) Alexander of Blacksburg, VA, Catherine (Eugene) Lacy of Roderfield, WV, Leroy Alexander and Patricia (Robert) Hairston both of Seffner, FL, Shirley (Raymond) King of Ocala, FL, Elizabeth (James) Young of Arizona and Calvin Alexander of High Point, NC; his Church family and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Thorpe with the Rev. Earl Rogers eulogist, Rev. Charles Collins, presiding, assisted by Rev, David Cooper, Rev.George Masterson and Bishop Dwight Palmer. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 6605 New Hope Road, Bluewell, WV, where burial rites will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans. His family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. "

"Mary Katherine Brewster, 89, of Welch WV, passed away, Monday, January 4, 2016, at her residence. Born September 3, 1926, in Lilly Brook WV, she was the daughter of the late, Simon and Lillian Barnes Marshall. She was a resident of Welch the greater part of her life, and she was a charter member of the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Welch WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Paul Brewster, and one sister. Survivors include, one daughter, Martha Brewster of Elkins WV, several cousins, and several nieces and nephews. "Mary Magdalene Fuller, 96, of Princeton, WV, and formerly of Maybeury, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Princeton Health Care facility in Princeton."Mary was born on March 19, 1923 in McDowell County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Frances Patterson Witherspoon. She was a resident of Maybeury and was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was a retired cook for McDowell County Board of Education and a retired seamstress of the Kimball Sewing Company.
"She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Fuller; and a son, Leron Dula.
