grandfather died of an apparent heart
attack today when his grandson was
struck by a car while waiting for a school
bus near his home.
"Six-year-old first grader John Robert
Thompson Jr.. Rt. l. Surgoinsville. was
struck a car about 8 a.m. just west of
Horne's Store in Carter Valley
"Although the boy was not seriously in-
jured, his grandfather, William A.
Brewster, collasped and died by the side
of the road after running from the
nearby home when he saw his grandson
hit.
"Brewster was pronounced dead by
Hawkins County coroner Ralph Collins,
and his body was taken to Wilson
Funeral Home in Church Hill.
"The first grader was taken to Hawkins
Сounty Memorial Hospital. and then
transferred to the Surgoinsville Clinic
for further examination, although ap-
parently only slightly injured.
"The driver of the vehicle, tentatively
identified as "Bailey", apparently struck
the child as the youth stepped into the
road and no charges have been filed.
"Brewster was a native of West Vir-
ginia, but had lived in Hawkins county
lor the past 3 1/2 years. He was a member
of the Methodist Church.
"He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Catherine Brewster, Surgoinsville; four
daughters, Mrs James Brewster,
Rogersville, Mrs.Mary Laster, Miss
Sharon Brester, Mrs, Brender Richards,
all of Surgoinsville; three sons, William

"HURON HOSPITAL (formerly Huron Road Hospital and Meridia Huron Hospital), incorporated on August 6, 1874 and located at 13951 Terrace Road in EAST CLEVELAND, traces its history to the CLEVELAND HOMEOPATHIC HOSPITAL (1856-1917). In 1869, after encountering problems practicing at both St. Vincent de Paul Hospital (see ST. VINCENT CHARITY HEALTH HOSPITAL AND HEALTH CENTER) and the Willson Street Hospital, physicians of HOMEOPATHY bought the Humiston Institute building on the west side for $35,000 and formed the Cleveland Protestant Homeopathic Hospital. ..."
