Arlene was born November 15, 1945, in Panther, WV, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mabel Roberts. She graduated from Iaeger High School in 1964. She worked as a procurement officer on a U.S. Naval base in Norfolk, VA; she had an Associated Degree in Accounting and ran her own computer store in N.C. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a nephew, Dewayne Dotson. "Lewis graduated from Cooper Union Institute, June 4, 1936, B.S., Civil Engineering. He won the Physics prize 3 years in a row. Working nights and attending classes during the day, he completed the 5-year course in 4 years, graduating with honors; of about 100 who began the course the first year, only 16 graduated. He worked for Semet-Solvey, a division of Allied Chemicals who sent him to Kingston WV. He moved to Welch in 1940 and later started his own civil, mining, construction and consulting engineering business there and served as City and County Engineer, McDowell County, a position he held until his death. Lewis was a well-respected businessman known throughout the State of West Virginia and into Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. He was licensed in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky. There are many bridges in the area that he built on which his name is engraved. He was a member of the Lions Club. "

"Larry Gene Christian, age 71 of North Tazewell, VA died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home. He was born September 26, 1950 and was a son of Lucille Scyphers Workman of Pounding Mill, VA and the late Barney Jerry Christian."Larry was a 1970 Graduate of Iaeger High School and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Christian worked for many years with Honey Well Aerospace as a small engine airplane mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, boating and camping.
In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by the man who raised him as a son, Samuel Workman."In addition to his mother, those who survive to cherish his memory include two sons, both of Mesa, AZ; three sisters, one brother, of Abingdon, VA; many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends, also survive.
"Funeral Services for Mr. Christian will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Chris White officiating.
