Her parents were Frank and Nettie Smith Porter. She was born in Boyle County, Kentucky, and died in McCreary County, Kentucky. She died of tuberculosis and was buried in Oneida, Tennessee. Children Bill and Myrtie had included Nannie Francis Silvers, Theodore "Ted" Silvers, Mack Silvers, and Earl Silvers.
"Bill's second wife was Virginia "Jennie" Allen Silvers. She was born in Virginia. Her parents were Floyd and Lizzie Allen. Children Bill and Jennie had together were Juanita Silvers and Jewel Silvers.
