"It is with sadness that the family of Edith Irene Church, formerly of Yukon, WV, announce her death on May 19, 2015 in Blackstone, VA.
"She was born on January 12, 1923 in McCarr, Ky, the daughter of Earnest and Della Wright. In 1944 she married Corbett Church, also of Yukon, who preceded her in death in March of 1969. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred Dequino and Sadie Wingo; and three brothers, Earnest Wright Jr., William “Bill” Wright, and Jerry Wright.
"She is survived by her son Bennett Church, Sr. (Rosemary) of McKenny, VA; four grandchildren, Bennett, Jr. (Diana) of McKenny, VA, Annette Treese (John) of Doaktown, New Brunswick, Canada, John (Tracy) of McKenny, VA, Jeff (Jennifer) of Midlothian, VA; ten great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Florence Hagerman of War, and Jean Saltz of Ashland, KY.
" Edith lived most of her life in Yukon and loved her home. She was a member of the Yukon Christian Church, and worked as a teacher’s aide at War Elementary and Jr. High Schools for 18 years. She was a wonderful homemaker, and loved to care for her family.
"Friends will be received at the Yukon #2 Community Church in Yukon from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, May 23 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John A. Treese officiating. Committal service will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Bluefield, VA...."

"Mrs. Leimone was born a daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Gyetvai Smith. She moved to Saint Helena in 1930, and became an active member of the community as well as Saint Joseph's Catholic Church where she played the organ for some time. She worked alongside her husband in the farming, dairy, and poultry business. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles, Scrabble, working in the garden and dancing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juisto Leimone; and an infant brother, Steve. Mrs. Leimone of the Saint Helena Community died at Durham Regional Hospital after declining health at age 89."
