"BERNARD MULLENS, 91, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. He was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Princeton, W.Va., a son of the late James and Nora Underwood Mullens."He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois "Penny" Shupe Mullens;a daughter, Myra (Jim) Talbot of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; granddaughters, Angie Tucker of Royal Oak, Mich., and Dr. Julie (Don) Novel of Columbus, Ohio; two great-grandsons, Elliott Bakirci and Anthony Novel.
"Mr. Mullens served his country in the U.S. Army 606 Ordinance Battalion during World War II and was a member of the Daytona Beach First Presbyterian Church. He retired from AEP as assistant regional dispatcher after 35 years of service.
