She came here 12 years ago from Davy, W,Va. She was a retired secretary for the W.Va. State Police in Welch, W.Va., with 17 years of service. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Crystal River, Fla., and enjoyed Bible study, crossword puzzles, reading, quilting and crocheting.
"She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. McGan, in 1993, and her son, Dr. Richard McGan, in 1975. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Davis and husband Ron A. Davis, of Crystal River, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Blackie, of Emmett, Mich.; four grandchildren, Brian Green (Kirstie), Kurt Davis, Sean McGan (Nicole), and Eve McGan; and nine great-grandchildren.

"Bluefield, WV- The most gregarious man in the world has died. Charles Adkins (No, he was never given a middle name) was born at home in Algoma, WV on May 11, 1932 to Alice and Walter Adkins and died on the last beautiful day in September 2019. The birth and death of this man is not nearly as relevant as the days and nights that he lived to the fullest between those two dates.
"Charles was the youngest of 9 children in the Adkins family and the last living of his generation. He loved his brothers and sisters Raymond, Lily Mae, Lula Bell, Walter Jr., Mary, Frank, Millie Katherine, and William McKinley. He was gifted with a mind for numbers and athletic ability. He played basketball and football in high school but developed a true passion for golf in his later years. After high school, he completed two years of post-high school accounting studies. He married Carol Price on New Year’s Eve in 1951 and settled in Northfork, WV. They moved to Princeton, WV in 1965 where he resided for the remainder of his 87 years."Charles had an ability to connect with people and he had a vast network of friends and colleagues over the years. He had a genuine interest in people and was never afraid to offer assistance or help. As his entrepreneurial spirit grew with businesses, his reach became even broader. He forged many relationships.
"He played a great deal of golf and enjoyed winning championships even at the WV State level. Many thanks to William Jones and family who included him in their activities and ran errands for him whenever he asked, Wayne Brown who kept him busy and drove him wherever he wanted to go, Bob Holyroyd who was there when he needed him, David who was his friend and kept him safe; and the staff at Mercer Nursing and Rehab who gave him great care and friendships and Ruth Cassell whose companionship he has missed.
"Left behind to carry on Charles’ legacy are his beloved daughters, Debbie and
Alison, Debbie’s husband, Gerry, and his four grandchildren who were his pride
and joy. Nothing made him happier than when he was spending time with
Rachel, Matt, Nino, and Ally and as they grew into young adults, he enjoyed

"Carol Price Adkins Clark, 89, died on April 17th, 2021 in the caring and loving community at the Stonerise Healthcare Center at Glenwood Park, WV.
She was born January 13th, 1932 in Carswell, WV to Rachel and Cone Price and was the youngest of four children. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Debra Adkins Enigk and husband, Gerry of Bluefield, WV, and Alison Adkins Marino and husband, Joe (deceased) of Bay Village, OH, her four grandchildren, Rachel Enigk Wise and husband, Logan, Matt Enigk, Nino Marino, and Allegra Marino. She also had the good fortune to remarry in her later years to Gerald Clark and is survived by his children, David Clark and wife, Pam and Carol Clark McNeely and husband Neal, along with four grandchildren, Trey McNeely and wife, Christina, Rachel McNeely, Maddie Clark, and Evan Clark. Late in life she discovered a step sister, Lori McElhaney and husband Gene with children Melissa, Ben, and Meghan. Lori visited her often and they enjoyed spending time together. Her greatest joy was to see her only great grandson, Oliver Wise who was born 2 months before she died.
Carol always said that she hoped she had been a good mother as she lost her mother when she was six years old. As we approach this Mother’s Day, we want to assure everyone that she was an absolutely amazing Mom. She was also a fantastic Grandmother (Maw Maw), a wonderful Aunt, a caring Sister, and an incredible friend.
Carol will be remembered for her love of family, her tireless devotion to her children and grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and their children, and the love of nature- especially the birds, cats, and flowers. Although she encountered obstacles at various points in her 89 years, she always found the strength to persevere and find the positives on the other side.
As our family considers our loss of such an extraordinary mother this approaching Mother’s Day, this unknown authored poem says it best and certainly sounds like something that she would say to all of us.
I give you this one thought to keep,
I am with you still, I do not sleep,
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on the snow,
I am as sunlight on ripened grain,
