"He was a longtime member of Matheny United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Sons of the American Revolution, where he served as President until becoming ill. Known as an avid car enthusiast, he was often seen on nice days, driving one of his prized possessions, stopping to chat with friends along the way.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Taylor Stewart, his sister, Catherine Short, and brother-in-law, Joe Short.

John William "John Boy" Tilley, 52, of Sabine, WV passed away on Sunday November 3, 2019 at his home.
He was born on March 9, 1967 a son of the late J.W. and Mary Tilley. John Boy loved hunting and his
animals. His pride was held high in the sporting events held at Blackberry Game Club. With a heart as big
as the ocean and shoulders that could carry the weight of the world, his favorite time was in the presence
of his family and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a niece Rosia Irick; and
nephew Little Bobby. Survivors include his wife of 27 years Amanda "Lucy" Tilley; three daughters Tara

Dovie Fern Osborne Lusk, 84, of Cyclone, WV entered her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday November
6, 2019 at her home. She was born on January 8, 1935 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late Willie and Cora
Ellen Bailey Osborne. Dovie was a lifelong resident of Cyclone, a devoted Christian and a member of the
Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church where she attended. Dovie loved the Lord and listening to
gospel singing, she enjoyed setting on her porch for hours and going to yard sales. She was a loving
mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved being around her family and friends. She was a
devoted wife to Andy Lusk whom she loved with all her heart. In addition to her parents she is preceded in
death by her husband who was the love of her life for 47 years Andy Lusk; a daughter Elbie Lusk Osborne;
an infant son Tommy Lee Lusk; a granddaughter Christina Lynn Osborne; four brothers; three sisters;

Dan Goodman, 87, of Lynco, WV, passed away on November 18, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley,
WV following a short illness. He was born on October 8, 1932 in Simon, WV a son of the late Elsie
Goodman Fitch. Dan was a member of the UMWA District 17 and a retired coal miner. He enjoyed spending
time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and setting throughout the day at
McDonalds drinking coffee and talking to his friends about the ole days and solving the worlds problems.

Thomas Dale "Tommy" Adkins, 61 of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday November 23, 2019 at his
home. He was born on February 13, 1958 in Mullens, WV a son of Vida Laxton Adkins of Keyrock and the
late Moses Adkins, Jr.. Tommy retired from U.S. Steel after working 39 years. He loved deer hunting and
collecting cars. He had a talent for working on Porsches and Corvettes. He is preceded in death by his
father in 2010. In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife of 17 years Connie Mitchell

Charles Hobert Stewart, 68, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Sunday November 24, 2019 at his home following
a long illness. He was born on October 16, 1951 in Key Rock, WV a son of the late Rosco Roy Stewart and Kethel
Shannon. Charles worked as a coal miner for 35 years and a job he loved as a surveyor form many years. Those
left to cherish his memory include his companion of 38 years Patricia Stewart; their children Haven (Toby)
Stewart and Amber Stewart. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. The world is a better place for

Henry Gerald Armstrong, Sr., 74, of Clear Fork, WV, formerly of Whitman passed away on Tuesday November
26, 2019 at Bland County nursing and Rehab, Bastian, VA. He was born on April 29, 1945 in Braeholm, WV a son
of the late William Henry Armstrong and Margaret Chaffins Armstrong McCoy. Henry is of the Church of God
faith. He believed in the Son, father and the holy ghost. Henry worked as a truck driver, he is a retired and
disabled coal miner. He is a United States Army Veteran. He was a chef and state road worker. He loved doing
anything outdoors, he enjoyed eating and his Pepsi. He loved his wife dearly and loved taking care of his
children and grandchildren. Loved southern gospel music and loved CCR as well. In addition to his parents he is
preceded in death by his step father Emzi McCoy; and two grandchildren Hunter Chance Whitney and Ashlyn
Miah Belcher. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years Judy Justus Armstrong; eight children Candice
Whitney, Angela Hilling, Roger Lee Justus, Brandon Justus, Miranda Smith, Tashia Armstrong, Henry "J.R."

Dorothy Marie Green Fritz, 84, of Pineville, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 28, 2019 at her
home. She was born on March 16, 1935 in Pad Fork, WV a daughter of the late Harrison and Panzy Crabtree Green.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cecil Fritz; and a son-in-law Jonathan

Gina Marie Workman Sellards, 55, of Matheny, WV, she gained her wings and entered Heaven's gates at 2:39 AM
on Thursday November 28, 2019 at her home following a long illness. She was born on August 11, 1964 in
Columbus, OH the daughter of the late Buford Ray and Mary Ann Vance Workman. Gina was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother. She was a Head Start teacher at Mountain Heart until her health forced her to retire.
She attended Joseph Baptist Church. She enjoyed planting flowers, and loved her family and her cat, Oreo, who
was by her side when she passed, along with her husband Charlie and her son Alex. In addition to her parents
she is preceded in death by a brother Samuel Lewis Workman; a nieces Angela Varney; mother-in-law Goldie
Sellards; and a brother-in-law Roger Burgess. Survivors include her loving husband of 18 years Charlie Sellards
who loved her in sickness and in health until her last breath; a daughter Nicole Rae Bailey; a son in law Harry

Nancy Kay Mullens, 61, of Glen Fork, WV, received her eternal healing on November 29, 2019 surrounded by her

Margaret "Juppie" Rose " Hammitt, 72, of Fanrock, WV, passed away on December 2nd, 2019 after a hard-fought
battle with cancer. She went to be with the Lord peacefully, with her loving husband, Allen Hammitt, by her side.
Margaret was born on February 18th, 1947 at the family home in Brier Creek, WV the daughter of the late Burl
Harrison and Inez Florence Stafford Rose. She is a 1965 graduate of Baileysville High School. Margaret started a
career with the Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C., and later worked with C&P Bell in Roanoke, VA.
On August 27,1966, Margaret married the love of her life and best friend, Allen Hammitt. The two were married
for 53 years, and were practically inseparable. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family, golfing
and mostly, being together. Not to mention, Westerns and Politics. Margaret is survived by her loving husband,
Allen Hammitt, Sr.; her sons, Allen Hammitt Jr. and his wife Rebecca Hammitt, Scott Hammitt and his fiancé
Lindsay Hernandez; her sisters, Delores Kennedy, Paula Kennedy, Connie Lester and her husband Norman Lester;
her brother, Burl Rose and his wife Anna Rose; her grandchildren, Gavin Hammitt, Ethan Hammitt, Sydney Wray
and Aaron Moore; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends
whom she loved dearly. A memorial services will be held at 6 PM on Saturday December 7th in the Chapel of

Ola Virginia Turner Laxton, 98, of Matheny, WV, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2019 at the
Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation, New Richmond, WV. She was born on August 29, 1921 in Virginia, a
daughter of the late George H. and Hester Hagwood Turner. Ola was a person who loved God, family and friends
and it showed wherever she went. She spent most of her life sewing and any time she was out, it never failed that
someone approached her and thanked her for making their wedding dress, a cheerleader uniform for their child or
altering their husband's pants. Ola loved life and she could find things to laugh about with her whole body.
Christmas was her favorite holiday. Her hugs, OH HER HUGS, who could ever forget her hugs -- the intense
moments when she held you tightly and close to her heart. The grandchildren always said no one ever hugged
them like their Mamaw. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Emmett Laxton, Jr.;
and three brothers Woodrow, Carlton and Paul Turner. Survivors include her two sons Dwight (Sue) Laxton of
Matheny and Larry (Judy) Laxton of Mobile, AL; a sister Charlene Slate of Collinsville, VA; five grandchildren
Amanda (Bern) Gregory, Brandon (Stephanie) Laxton, Natasha Laxton, Maeghan (Chad) Powell and Keylan

home. She was born on August 10, 1932 in Sunhill, WV a daughter of the late Troy and Vera Tilley Cole. Juanita
retired from the Wyoming County Board of Education as a secretary and teacher's aide for 25 years at Reedy
Creek., Long Branch and Coal Mountain schools. She was a member of the Oceana United Methodist Church and
also attended Sun Hill Community Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of
62 years Eugene Cook; his parents Martha and Hugh Cook; a brother-in-law Hugh Cook, Jr. and his wife Edith; a
niece Judy Hamby; two brothers Alvin Cole and his wife Geneca and Clarence Cole and his wife Ruth; and a

daughter of the late John Stout and Alice Christine Ingram. Delores attended the Lynco Community Church. She
loved going to church and making donations to the Wounded Veterans, Boy's Town, and The SPCA. In addition to

Dustin Chad "Dusty" Monk, 31, of Bud, WV passed away on Tuesday December 24, 2019. He was born on March
4, 1988 in Beckley, WV a son of Fred and Maxie Griffith Monk, Jr. of Herndon, WV. Dusty is a 2006 graduate of
Wyoming East High School. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Betty Griffith; grandfather Fred S. Monk;

Jeffrey Alan Cline, 54, of Pineville, WV passed away on Friday December 27, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital,
Roanoke, WV following a short illness with liver disease. He was born on October 25, 1965 in Welch, WV a son of
Mary Dixon Cline of Pineville and the late Roger Barry Cline. He is preceded in death by his father. In addition to
his mother survivors include a son Taylor Cline and his fiancé Bethiny Ruiz of Beckley; a grandson Bentley Cline of
Pineville; a brother Timmy Cline of Lynco; a niece Tashawna (Aaron) Bailey of Oceana; a great niece Aliyah Bailey
of Oceana; his lifelong friend Terry (Lisa) Laxton of Pineville; and a host of other loving family and friends. In

Michael Ross Lamb, 62, of Oceana, WV passed away on Monday December 30, 2019 at his home following a long
illness. He was born on August 30, 1957 in Welch, WV a son of the late David Harold and Mildred Cook Lamb. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Larry Lamb; and nephew Houston Daniels. Survivors
include his loving wife of 37 years Sonja Cline Lamb; a daughter Selena Lamb and companion Tyler Adkins of
Huntington; two sons Ryan Lamb of Huntington and James Alan Lamb of Oceana; a sister Vicki Lamb and
companion Rudolph Tilley of Oceana; a brother Kenny Lamb and wife Cheryl of Oceana; three grandchildren Elijah
Lamb, Emylee Lamb and Madyson Adkins; five nieces and nephews Rachel Hood, Rebecca Daniels, Kayla David,
Beth Lusk and Kurt Lamb; twelve great nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. A
memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Sunday January 5, 2020 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV with Rev. James Walker, William Charles Cook and Jackie McGinnis Whitley officiating. Friends may

Jerrold Allen "Jerry" Walker, 50, of Oceana, WV passed away on January 1, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospital,
Huntington, WV, following a long illness. He was born on May 31, 1969 in Mullens, WV, a son of Helen Irene
DorseyWalker of Oceana and the late James Michael Walker, Sr.; In addition to his father he is preceded in death
by two brothers Jonthon Miller and James Michael "Jimmy" Walker, Jr., and his grandfather James White
Walker. In addition to his mother survivors include a sister Joyce Lynn Miller of Lewisburg; three brothers Joe
Clark Walker of Coal Mountain, Daniel Shawn Walker of Beckley and Justin Curtis Miller of Roncevert; and a host
of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Monday January 6, 2020 at the
Pentecostal House of Prayer, Lynco, WV with Pastor Roy Trent officiating. In keeping with his wishes he will be

Lucy Ellen Lusk Grubb, 88, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 1,
2020 at Raleigh General Hospital surrounded by her loving husband of 72 years, her children and extended
family, as they sang Amazing Grace. She was born on December 14, 1931 in Lorado, WV, a daughter of the late
Onnie Pierce and Mary Ellen Bailey Lusk; She was a member of Guyandotte Baptist Church, where she attended
faithfully. Her smile was infectious and everyone loved her. Her love for Jesus deeply touched her family, church
members and everyone she met. The influence of her love will remain forever and she will never be forgotten In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four siblings, a son in law Roger Simpson and two
grandsons Mark Simpson and Nicholas Scott Abbott. Survivors include her loving husband of 72 years Ralph
Grubb, four daughters Glenda Simpson of Saulsville, Barbara (Paul) Jeffrey of Cyclone, Sue (Dwight) Laxton of
Matheny and Nancy (Harrison) Abbott of Kopperston; a son Greg (Toni) Grubb of Kopperston; siblings Sylvia
(Steve) Gibson, Leonard (Anita) Lusk and Earnel (Eleanor) Lusk; a sister in law Jean Lusk; eleven grandchildren
and twenty one great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at
1:00 PM on Monday January 6, 2020 at the Guyandotte Baptist Church, Jesse, WV with Pastor Harrison Abbott
officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family
