"Agnes Pauline Ford Short, 98, of Clear Fork, WV passed away on Thursday March 26, 2020 at her home. She was
born on August 4, 1921 in Davy, WV, but lived her life in the Elk Lick, Clear Fork area. She was the daughter of the
late George Ford and Rebekah Bradbury Ford. Agnes was a long time member of the Advent Christian Church and
along with neighbors and friends, lived through the depression and World War II. In addition to her parents, she
is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Short; daughter Patricia Short Blankenship; granddaughter Kara Lea
Stewart Locke; great granddaughter Christy Lynn Blankenship; brother George Ford, Jr. and wife Ruby; sister
Maude Ford Johnson and husband Lee; and nephew Ronald Johnson, who was killed in Vietnam. Survivors include
daughter Sandra Short Childress and husband Paul and daughter Debra Diane Partridge. Grandchildren include
Robin Shrewsbury and husband Frank, Terry Blankenship and wife Dina, Keith Blankenship and wife Melisa,
Jamie Lill, Becky Fritz and husband Rob, and Bethanne Bort and husband Donovan; fourteen great grandchildren;
four great great grandchildren; nephews Stephen Ford and Mark Johnson; niece Carolyn Johnson. A special part
of her family life was nephew Danny (Buck) Short and wife Barbara, and niece Terry Vanover and community
friends and relative. They made her life joyful. The family also thanks Hospice of Southern WV and those who
cared for her during her illness. Agnes loved making quilts with her granddaughter Robin for family and friends.
Seeing her daffodils blooming in the spring, and taking vacations with her daughters. A private service will be
held for the immediate family. If you desire to honor her, please give a donation to your church in her memory.
