"Blankenship, Vallie, 82, Matheny, died Friday in a Beckley hospital at approximately 2 p.m. after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Thompson and Markilla Walker. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Blankenship; two sons, Dennis and Forrest, both of Matheny; a daughter, Mrs. Nita Browning, Lyburn; a brother, Elsie Walker, and a sister, Mrs. Velma Brooks, both of Oceana; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Born Sept.3, 1892, she was a lifelong resident of Matheny, and a member of the Matheny Methodist Church. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery, Matheny.
