Born November 11, 1937 in Caretta, WV, he was the son of the late Bernam and Ruth Janice Waldron Hicks."Donald was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict and former owner/operator of Focus Construction. He was an avid Mountaineer college football and NASCAR fan, enjoyed computer games, playing cards and Facebook. He was of the Christian faith, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.

"Went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was a patient at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, VA. Born December 13, 1943 at Raysal, WV she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Dora Short Cook. She was a retired employee of the Counsel of Southern Mountains. Geraldine was a member of #2 Yukon Community Church and had been a member since the church was built. She has served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in Bible Studies. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed outdoor events, camping gardening, and playing with her dog, Zury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Day; brothers, Raymond and Tommy Cook; one great grandson, Thias Crookshanks.
