"Katherine was a very classy lady. She was a long-time devoted Christian. She and her late husband, Frank played guitars and sang together in many churches over the past years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing her guitar and singing with others gathered around. She was a member of the Church of the Living God and she faithfully served the Lord since she was 18 years old.
"Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Clinton Jackson and Reverend Rusty Mullins officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Andy Kennedy Cemetery on Horse Creek, WV. Doug Cook, Wyatt Cline, Brady Cline, Bill Horne, Tim Rister and David Ratliff will serve as pallbearers.

"Shirley Ann Lester Ellis, 66, of Oceana, passed away peacefully Thursday December 17, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born July 15, 1954 in Beckley she was the daughter of the late Guy and Lorine Fisher Ellis."Shirley attended Clearfork Valley Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending the Women’s Mission Society and helping with Vacation Bible School. She also attended the The Well church. Shirley worked for Goodson’s Supermarket in Oceana for thirty-three years. In her spare time, she was an Avon representative. She loved helping people.
"In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda and Sandra Lester.
