Guy Edward Wolfe, 77, of War passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 in Welch Community Hospital. Born September 23, 1937 in St. Paul, VA he was the son of the late Guy B. Wolfe and Evangeleine Honaker Wolfe. He was a former coal miner with Olga Coal Company and was a retired federal mine inspector with the Department of Labor. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of American Legion Post 0043 of Berwind. He was also a member of the Berwind Masonic Lodge, and the Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Adair; a sister Betty Wolfe Wingo; and a brother Bill Wolfe. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 wonderful years, Yvonne Wolfe of the home; two sons, Tim Wolfe and wife Diana of Princeton and Jonathan Wolfe of War; a daughter, Patricia Montoya and husband Ruben of Fort Worth, TX; a brother, Jimmy Wolfe of Tazewell, TN; a sister Linda Hoffmann of Wytheville, VA; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 15 at 2 p.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church in War with Rev. Spencer Oxford officiating. Military services will be conducted by VFW Post 1144, Iaeger following the service...."
