"Amos New died June 16, 2009, in South Williamson Kentucky, at the age of 80. He was born on April 22, 1929, at Baisden, to Troy and Tennessee Vannie (Blankenship) New. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Virgie Ruth Kennedy New; son, Arnold Ray New; and three brothers: Raymond, Joda Pat, and Buddy New. He was a retired coal miner. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donnie; his children, David (Denise), Norma Jean (Buck), Wanda (Rocky), and Arlene (Terry); siblings, Doug (Zola), Alma, Gladys, and Alice; his step-children: Susan (Eddie), Rhonda (Donnie), Glenda (Darrell), Dennis, Lora (Darrell), and Regina (Lynn); 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; a host of family and friends. Funeral services were held at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights at Hampden."

"She was born January 25, 1931 in Welch to the late John and Nannie Lou Myers of Newhall. She was a graduate of Big Creek High, War, and a former member of Christ the King Catholic Church in War. At her death, she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport.
"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Noah and their sons Matthew and David.
"She is survived by daughters, Thea Kudrna and husband Ed of Morgantown, WV, Cindy Cantrell and husband Brian of Bridgeport, and son Chris Dell’Orso and wife Kim of Tazewell, VA. She is also survived by her loyal and longtime canine companion, Binki.
"In addition, she is survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who all loved their fancy, classy, loving Granny with all their hearts. Each one of them has many beautiful stories and memories of her and how she impacted their lives. Granny was a “good buddy” to all of them.
"Jo, as she was known to family and friends, was the matriarch of her family who taught by example the real meaning of faith, family and love. She was a strong, independent fun-loving person who loved life. She loved to travel and was always open to new experiences. She had a sharp, inquisitive mind, a zest and appreciation for life, and wisdom beyond her years. She loved God and family above all else. She was an avid reader and had a curiosity and interest in other people and their cultures. She also loved spending time with her little dog, Binkie. She was a devout Catholic and a strong advocate of Right to Life. She was an example of a Godly woman that her family loved with all their hearts. “Her children rise up and call her blessed” Proverbs 31:28.
