(June 20, 1931 - April 18, 2011)"Nancy R. Sly, 79, of Welch, WV, formerly of Woodsmoke Ranch, Seneca, passed away Monday April 18, 2011 at Morris Hospital.
"Funeral services will be 6:00 P. M. Thursday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Bluewell, WV. Visitation will be two hours prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
"She was born June 20, 1931 in Princeton, WV to Cecil and Margaret (Knight) Brown. In 1961, she married Howard Sly Jr. of Welch, WV who preceded her in death in 1966.
"She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Welch, WV, the order of the Eastern Star and D.A.R. She was a school teacher in McDowell County. She later received her Master's degree from West Virginia University, and then she was a reading specialist and started the early childhood education program in McDowell County.
"She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ann (John Logsdon) Sly of Marseilles and Deborah De Graaf, both of Marseilles; eight grandchildren, Dawn, Lisa, Jeremiah, Meriah, Kaycee, Samantha, Clairice and Spencer; and eight great-grandchildren.
"She was preceded in death by her husband, and one brother, David Lee Brown."

"Apollonia “Oma” Fuchs, 94, of Welch WV passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020, at her residence. Born October 15, 1925 in Kitzingen, Germany she was the daughter of the late Michael Kahl and Kunigunde Most."Mom was trying very hard to make it to her 95th birthday. She has lived a full life and enjoyed her last years in the loving personal care of her two youngest daughters, JoAnne and Marylou. She spent her final hours surrounded by loving family and friends.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her Daughter Gisela Peterson and three Grandchildren, several brothers and sisters.
"She is survived by five of her six children, Roland and Barbara Fox, Hans Fuchs and Cathy Spencer, Dieter Fuchs, Joanne Fuchs, Mary Lou Sizemore and George Janice, and twelve of her fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
