"Cathy Ann Reed, 53, of Lincolnton, NC, formally of Paynesville, WV, went to her heavenly home Friday, July 7, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Cathy was born in Welch, WV on October 22, 1969, to Joyce Mullins Reed of Lincolnton, NC and the late Thomas Reed."Cathy made friends wherever she went. She was a strong independent woman who had health issues all of her life. She kept her faith up to her last breath. She was ready for her journey to walk with God. Cathy worked at DHHR in West Virginia and was a CNA and NA in North Carolina. She loved to crochet, quilting and crafts in general, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and with her son. She was a great mom and a good cook.
"She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Reed, on January 17, 2014; brother Thomas Allen Reed on December 5, 1991; maternal grandparents Mose and Nancy Mae Mullins and paternal grandparents Jim and Fannie Reed all of Paynesville – Bradshaw, WV area; cousin Pamela Reed, whom she thought of like a sister; cousins Gregory Reed, Tommy Dean Mullins, Shawn and Shannon Mullins, Dexter Mullins, Dennis Day and Brian Rhodes. Aunts and uncles, Glen and Ora Mae Mullins, Burl Mullins, Chester Mullins, Bobby Click, Everett Reed and Glen Reed, whom was like a brother.
