"Wilburn McKinley Newbill, Sr. 84 of Bluefield, WV formerly of Welch WV passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Elkhorn WV to John and Helene Smith on December 9, 1936. At an early age, he moved to Welch, WV where he lived with his grandmother, Annie Mae Winbush until he graduated from Kimball High School in 1955. He was a member of Lovely Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Kimball, WV, and a member of United Mine Workers of America District 17 Local No. 6196.

"Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Constance R. Simmons, Natoma B. Ramsey, and Johnita H. Adkins; one brother: George R. Benson; two nephews: Dennis Newbill and George Benson, Jr; two nieces: Addie Mae Blackman and Tawanna Benson; two great-nieces: Rachel Benson and Briana Benson.

"He is survived by his wife Cornelia of 65 years, his three sons: Wilburn (Regina) Newbill Jr. of Waikiki, HI; Cornell (Elizabeth Dooley) Newbill of Oviedo, FL; Kevin (Vanessa) Newbill of Guyton, GA, and four daughters: Renata M. (Saba) Newbill-Jallow of Statesboro, GA; Paula R. (Lawrence) Newbill-Mylnczak of Bluefield WV; Kimberley V. Newbill of Bluefield WV and Felicia M. Newbill also of Bluefield, WV; eleven grandchildren: Matthew (Angela Cardona) Newbill, Rashida Newbill (Amelio Leon), Monique Newbill, Dominique Newbill, Malik Newbill, Makenzy Newbill, McKinley Hearns, Makenly Newbill, Maleece Newbill , Briahnna Dooley- Newbill and Ansata Newbill Gittens and seven great grandchildren: Michael Wray III, Maliyah Newbill, Malachi Newbill Burrell, Sydney Newbill, Arielle Hearns, Avery Hearns, and Katalaya Newbill; four sisters: Ana Benson White of Charlotte, NC; Toni (Raymond) Lee of Powathan, WV; Gwendolyn (Nebraska) Benson Johnson of Charlotte, NC; Lena (Jimmy) Johnson of Woodbridge, VA: one brother, Lonnie (Larissa) Benson of Columbus, OH. The Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m.,on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Open Heart Ministries Resource Center (formerly known as Grace United Methodist Church), 206 Thomas Street, Bluefield, WV, with the Reverend Cornell L. Newbill officiating. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Mausoleum, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm., at Lovely Zion Baptist Church in Kimball, WV. "David William Call, 31, of Gary, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Welch Community Hospital. Born January 28, 1990 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of David Allen Call and Joyce Plavsic Marshall both of Ohio.

"David was a graduate of Mount View High School in Welch and was employed in maintenance at McDonalds in Welch.

"David was preceded in death by one sister, Susan B. Call.

"In addition to his parents those left to cherish his memories are his lifelong companion, Tina Hamilton of Welch; one brother, Dennis Ryan of the home and one sister, Samantha Ryan of Premier.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Mortuary Chapel in Welch. Burial will follow in the Mullins Cemetery at Hemphill.

"Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

"Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.

"Sylvester “Sky” Edwards, 71, of Northfork, WV passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 in Northfork, WV. Born November 21, 1949 in Welch, WV; he was the son of the late Theanuel Isaiah and Viola Hooser Edwards. He spent the last nine years in McDowell County farming and building a living legacy. He attended the Little Vine Baptist Church. He was a highly decorated Marine Veteran of the Vietnam Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings: Maggie and Ronnie. Survivors include his wife, Angelina Annette Edwards of Northfork, WV; two daughters: Nicole Jarvis of Premier, WV; Letia White of NorthFork, WV; three sons: Johnathan Cox and Wife Felicia of Keystone, WV; Corey Edwards of Columbus, OH; Keith Edwards of Columbus, OH; four sisters: Rose, Sadie Mae, Shirley, Diana; brothers: William, Joseph, Theodore, Anthony, Terry, and many Grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 3 p.m. at the Little Vine Baptist Church in Superior, WV with Brother Jute Sizemore and Brother Tom Belcher officiating. "Mrs.Eloise Stewart who resided in Wilmington, DE and had lived in Thorpe, WV, peacefully departed this life on Friday, May 15. 2020 in the comforts of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Birmingham, AL and the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruby Mae (Ryle) Everson. For most of her life, she lived in Thorpe, was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed interior decorating, home projects and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stewart; her sisters, (twin) Louise Joyce and Evelyn Ryle and two of her brothers, Raymond Everson and Zeb Ryle. She was a beautiful lady and had a beautiful spirit. Proverbs 31:28 states it best,"Her children arise and call her blessed." She leaves cherished memories to her family, which includes; her children: Edna (Harold) Lane of Stuart, FL, Doug (Ida) Byers, Michael Byers, Sylvester Anderson and Deborah Anderson all of Wilmington; several grand and great-grandchildren; her siblings: Betty (Julius) McLeod, Bernard, Delores, Donald and Donise Ryle and Bernice Thomas; several generations of nephews, nieces and other relatives. Mrs. Stewart's Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, with the Reverend David Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6605 New Hope Road in Bluewell, WV. Pallbearers will be her Family.
