"Thursday, March 19, 2015"KINGSVILLE – Delmer Dee Mullins, age 78, of Red Oak Circle, North Kingsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
"He was born April 6, 1936, in Coburn, Va., the son of Herman and Edna (Griffith) Mullins and had been an area resident since 1955.
"Prior to his retirement, he worked 40 years as a maintenance man for Elkem Metals, formerly Union Carbide.
"Delmer was an adventurous soul and loved to travel. He had been to all 50 states and set foot on every continent except Antarctica and even fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling around the world and walking on the Great Wall of China.
"A Little League coach for 13 years, he was also involved with 4-H and the Masons. He loved a good meal of cornbread, beans and fried greens, and truly enjoyed being a twin with his brother, Elmer Lee, as they had attended the Twinsburg twins’ festival for 22 years.
"His survivors include three children, Ron (Mam) Mullins of Claremore, Okla., Jennifer (Joseph) Mangiamele of Centerville, Ohio, and Martha (Jerry) Gillespie of North Kingsville; the mother of his children, Mary Mullins; four grandchildren, Ronnie (Eva), Mary (Josh), Daniel (Lori) and Lee (Samantha); five great-grandchildren, Mia, Ethan, Addison, Jaden and Aden; three brothers, William (Carmen) Mullins of Del Rio, Texas, Douglas (Nancy) Mullins of Baltimore, Ohio, and his twin, Elmer (Betty) Lee Mullins of Geneva; two sisters, Helen (Bob) Boden of Mt. Morris, Pa., and Linda (Jack) Richardson of Greenville, Texas; sisters-in-law, Janet and Linda Mullins; and many nieces and nephews.
"He was preceded in death by two brothers, E.J. Mullins and Charles “Jack” Mullins; and his parents.
