"Gerald was a retired coal miner and truck driver, as well as a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Air Force. He was a 1967 graduate of Iaegar High School where he played football and also attended Bluefield State College. Gerald loved singing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and infant grandson.

"Funeral services for Gerald David Mullins will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Bradshaw Mountain Community Church at Paynesville, W.Va. with Hobert Kennedy and Willis Osborne officiating. Burial to follow in the Vance Cemetery at Paynesville, W.Va. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the church at 6 p.m. where a service will be held at 7 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Ralph Roberts, Dennis Mullins, Buck Jones, Jim Mullins, Braxton Mullins and Thurman Payne. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Delbert Kiser, Brock Whitt, Charles Thomas, Joe Ford, Steven Justus, Rodney Bryant, Tony Dotson and the Blackwater Outlaws. The family requests donations to be made to the Mountain Home VA Medical Center Volunteer Services and American Cancer Society / Melanoma Research. Military graveside rites will be conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post 175 of Bradshaw and VFW 1164 of Iaegar.
