"Agnes Almedia Hawks Kennedy, 90, of Paynesville, W.Va., went to be with her husband and family, Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at her residence on Rock Ridge Road. Mrs. Kennedy was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Carroll County, Va., a daughter of the late Harvey and Nora Skeens Hawks. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and an angel here on earth."In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Alice Hawks Kennedy; her husband, Joe Kennedy; there daughters, Donna Kennedy Burton, Darlene Kennedy and Rita Faye Kennedy; one son, Becoy Hawks; one grandson, Eric Burton; one granddaughter, Stevie Burton; one brother, William Hawks; four sisters, Wilma Rose Deskins, Gwendolyn Hocevar, Nancy Ellen Vance, and Evelene Blevins; and a son-in-law, Corbet Short.
"Survivors include four sons, Aaron Edward Kennedy and wife, Darlene, Ronnie Kennedy, and Calvin Kennedy and wife, Ivalene, all of Jolo, and Bobby Joe Kennedy and special friend, Judy Blakely of English; three daughters, Wanda Burcham and husband, Carlon of Austinville, Va., Beaula Short of Bartley, and Ginger Sparkman and husband, Donald of Pilgrims Knob, Va.; three sisters, Margie Asbury, and Mary Foley and husband, Oscar, all of Paynesville, and Gertrude Foley and husband, Bill of Ohio; two brothers, James Hawks of Kansas, and Russell Hawks of Paynesville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow in the Kennedy Cemetery in Bug Hurley Hollow at Three Forks near Jolo, W.Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers...."
