She departed this life Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center at Charleston."Also preceding her in death was her first husband, James Chester Bennett; second husband, Walter Stanley; two daughters, Josie England and Terrie Dingess; son, James C. Bennett Jr., and sons-in-law, Robert Hicks and Johnnie Pitts. Mrs. Stanley was a homemaker and attended the Godby Heights Church of God.
"Survivors include her children, Neda Pitts of Cleveland, Ohio; Freda Hicks and Brenda (Lewis) Nord, both of Godby Heights; Alfred Bennett and Sandy (Curtis) Franklin, both of Kegley; Peggy (Rick) Melson of Sunset, La., and Sherri (Larry) Stroub of Hurricane; son-in-law, Harold England of Davy; 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren
