"Harold Edward “Pick” Hylton, 88, of Coalwood, WV, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg, VA. Born March 23, 1934 in Coalwood, he was the son of the late Fred Raymond Hylton and Josephine Sheets Hylton."He was a security guard for the coal company and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Trinity Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Welch where he loved to play his harmonica. He was the former owner of the Country Corner in Coalwood, and he loved to play golf.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Hylton, three brothers, and seven sisters.
'Those left to cherish his memories are one step son, Gene Darby of Coalwood; two daughters, Terry Winters and husband Tommy of Florida, Tammy Mendez of Florida; three step daughters, Leigh Wilson and husband Jimmy of Coalwood, Lyndora Hamilton of Coalwood, Cathy Hall of Maryland; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Dan Pruitt and Reverend Walter Muncy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Bluewell. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Iaeger V.F.W. Post 1144 of Iaeger.
