Moved to Alexandria, VA and became a Master Carpenter. He soon opened his business Allen and Sons. Retired after 30 years and moved to Nashville, TN. He handed over the business to his son Mike who continues to run the business.
"Later in life he began to learn the banjo. Often creating music videos show casing his singing and playing skills. Sending them out daily to his family and friends. He soon discovered the internet and social media. His sight was not the best, but he sure could use his iPhone and iPad.
"He loved porch sitting, road trips and most of all his weekly breakfast dates with his granddaughter Chelsie to Cracker Barrel. He did love his southern food- biscuits & gravy and Sylvia’s chicken & dumplings.
"He was the best Dad and Pawpaw and Papaw ever! The most kindest man you would have met.
