"Dan Goodman, 87, of Lynco, WV, passed away on November 18, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley,
WV following a short illness. He was born on October 8, 1932 in Simon, WV a son of the late Elsie
Goodman Fitch. Dan was a member of the UMWA District 17 and a retired coal miner. He enjoyed spending
time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and setting throughout the day at
McDonalds drinking coffee and talking to his friends about the ole days and solving the worlds problems.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his wife Shelvie Dean Harvey Goodman; and a
grandson Thomas Daniel Goodman. Those left to cherish his memory are his four sons Danny Dewey
Goodman, Denver (Dora) Goodman all of Lynco, Thomas (Helen) Goodman of Lynchburg, VA and James
Goodman of Orlando, FL; two grandsons Joseph (Mindy) Goodman and Denver Dewey (Stephanie)
Goodman all of Lynco; seven great grandchildren Joshua "Hunter" Goodman, Madison Goodman, Ethan
Harris, Johanna Dean Goodman all of Lynco, Logan Goodman, Dakota Goodman and Tristan Goodman all
of VA; a sister Susie Fitch-Hosch of Alberquerque, NM; a brother Richard Fitch of Pineville; and a host of
other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday November 21st in the
Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor William Cook officiating. He will be laid to
rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 PM until time
of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral
