"Born in Paynesville, WV, May 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Rosie Keene. She was employed by Mountain Mission School and had operated the former Grundy Hotel in Grundy. She was an avid crocheting enthusiast.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Anderson Collins; five sisters and six brothers.
"She is survived by a daughter, Faye Edmisten and husband, Bob, of Rural Retreat; one son, Curtis Ray Collins and wife, June, of Pilgrim's Knob; two sisters, Lydia Horne of Watertown, TN and Josephine Cook of Bradshaw, WV; six grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 11 great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
"Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 5 at Virginia Funeral Home Chapel with Hobert Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in the Collins Family Cemetery on Compton Mountain.
