"William “Bill” Allen Sims, 77, of Raysal, WV, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024 in Bristol Regional Hospital in Bristol, TN."Bill was born January 25, 1947, in Raysal Hollow a son of the late John L. and Ruth M. Martin Sims. Bill was a retired coal miner from U.S. Steel at Pineville Shawnee and # 50 mine; he retired in 2005 with 30 years underground. To his work buddies Bill was known as “Cat” because he was quick and could get into small spaces; he was an electrician in the mines. Bill also worked for Magnavox in Greenville, TN in the late 1960’s. Bill grew up in Raysal Hollow as a child he loved being in the woods and hunting. In his younger years Bill was a volunteer fireman for Raysal, an election poll worker and also an avid hunter.
"In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Christian Sims; a brother, Gene and wife Barbara Sims; a sister, Stormy Mullins; his mother-in-law, Gladys Christian; brothers-in-law, Aldie Mullins, and Bub Ikard, and a step daughter, Patricia Hass.
"Survivors include his daughters, Windy (L.D.) Ashley of Bristol, VA, Misty (Randall) Lamie of Panama City, FL, Josey Sims and Tanya Goodman both of Tazewell, VA; grandchildren, Sammi and Calen Ashley, Morgan Tate and Aaron Hill, Tyler and Alic Hass, Parker Baldwin, and Keerstin Rasnake; several great grandchildren; sister, Carol Ikard; and brother, John L. and wife Carol Sims, whom will miss him greatly, they spoke every day.
"Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 o’clock, with Pastor Charles Rose and Reverend Roger Pete Woods officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

"Sally Irene Sims, 65, of Raysal, WV, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia."Sally was born in Welch, WV, February 16, 1956, a daughter of the late Douglas and Gladys Rose Christian.
"In addition to her parents Douglas and Gladys Christian, Sally was preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Hundley and one daughter Patricia Goodman Hass.
"Survivors include her husband of 34 years, William “Bill” Sims of the home; four daughters, Tanya (David Lee) Goodman of Tazewell, VA, Josey Sims also of Tazewell; Windy ( L.D.)
