"Beulah Mae Long, 94, of Harrisonburg passed away Monday, December 7, 2015.

"She was born in 1921 in McDowell County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Willie Heber Plaster and Mary Louvena Smith Plaster. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church in Harrisonburg. She spent a significant part of her life supporting her husband in his lumber business in Branchville, Virginia. Her husband, Chesleigh Mack Long, Sr. passed away October 13, 1969. She then moved to Harrisonburg in 1970 to continue raising her three boys. In Harrisonburg, she worked in nursing home management, and went on to own a local business, Horizon Sure Tan. Beulah was a devoted mother and grandmother, giving of herself to support her family.

"Surviving family include three sons, Chesleigh Mack Long, Jr., Bill Long, and Bruce Long; her sister, Goldie Locke; grandchildren Chris, Kevin, Laurel, Adam, Phillip, and Megan; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings Elsie, Bruce, Ira, Ray, Lucille, Riley, Betty, and Aaron.

"A funeral service will be held at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg at 6:30 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 5:30 pm Tuesday until the service begins. Burial will be on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the Seaboard Cemetery in Seaboard, North Carolina."

Bruce was born in McDowell County WV, on November 10, 1961, a son of the late Bobby Daugherty and Laura Mae Colley Daugherty. Bruce was the kindest most selfless person one could ever hope to meet. He had a way of making you laugh with his humorous personality no matter how sad you were or how much pain he was in. Heaven has certainly gained a precious angel, while our hearts are overwhelmed with grief and pain we find comfort in knowing his pain and suffering is gone forever. You will be missed our precious dad, brother, pawpaw and friend.
