"Mary Hale Brown gained her angel wings on January 27, 2022, while a patient at Reno Renown Hospital, Reno, Nevada. Mary had fought a long courageous battle with cancer.

"She was the third born child of Jack and Helen Lusk Hale on April 3, 1954.

"Mary spent a majority of her childhood at Welch, WV, attending Welch Elementary School and graduating from Welch High School. She earned her Masters Degree while employed with the State of California Park systems.

"In her early career she worked for several years in a program to assist flood victims of southern WV. She loved her WV heritage and was dedicated to helping those in need after the floods. Mary is remembered as an employee of The Welch Daily News as a court reporter and she also worked for US Steel in Gary in the Accounting Department in the 70s and 80s.

"Mary was preceded in death by her long time husband, Steve Brown, who died of complications from a kidney transplant in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Helen Lusk Hale both of Welch, WV, and her two younger brothers, Jeffrey Hale of Huntington, WV and George Hale of Beckley, WV.

"Mary is survived by her two sisters, Charlene Hale of Beckley, WV, and Jacqueline Hale Jarrell of Cool Ridge, WV; a niece, Sarah Logan Hale and a nephew, Patrick McDowell Hale of Lasage, WV. She will be long remembered by her friend and caregiver Danielle, of California.

"Mary retired from her position with the State of California Park Systems making her home in Portola, Calif. She enjoyed continuing her education, reading as was evidenced by her impressive book collection, cooking and gardening.

"She was a strong woman, supporting many political causes and no one ever had to guess how she stood on a particular issue. She was of the Christian faith.

"Anyone who knew Mary would know of her long time love of horses and she had achieved her life long dream by owning her two beloved horses. Mary had a love for all animals and so thoughtfully found adoptive homes for her pets, Rosa, Gracie and Anna Mae shortly before she passed. She and Steve had shared the pets during their long marriage. "

"Ronnie Dunigan, 83, of Hanover, WV went to his Heavenly Home on September 4, 2024. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving for 20 years and retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a Member and Deacon of Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Ronnie loved the Lord and always stood by his faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bird watching, fishing, and hunting ginseng.

"He was the son of the late Rily and Pricie Dunigan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Glenna Dunigan and brothers Clayton Dunigon, Lonnie Dunigan, Roy Dunigan, and Louie Dunigan. Ronnie is survived by two daughters Dana (Bill) Buzzo of Bluefield, WV and Denevra (Ernie) Morgan of Hanover, WV; three grandchildren Megan (Ken) Bogart, Traci (Kevin) Smith, and Lindsey (Darin) Jones; five great grandchildren Kendall Smith, Kaiden Jones, Brooklyn Bogart, Makenna Smith, and Trey Bogart; siblings Ray (Patsy) Dunigan, Virginia Scott, and Delena Vanover; a host of nieces and nephews.

"Funeral Services will be conducted at Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00PM by Pastor Clyde Endicott, Reverend Gary Walker and Deacon Conley Goad. Burial will follow at the Walker Cemetery in Hanover, WV. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #1144 and the Naval Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers, Ken Bogart, Darin Jones, Kevin Smith, Grayson Hatfield, Tyler Dunigon, Braxton Matheny, Colton Turner. Honorary pallbearers Larry Lester, Brad Justice, Jeff Dunigan, Charlie Turner.

"Funeral services for Joseph Edward Workman, age 81, of Roanoke, will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wade Price officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday. Mr. Workman died Friday, January 15, 2010, at Randolph Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Geon Workman of Roanoke; two daughters, Vicki Windsor (Jerry) and Karen Moore (Randy) of Roanoke; two sons, George Copestick (Anne) of Richmond, Va. and Horace Wayne Workman of Roanoke; one sister, Myrtle Bailey of Mohawk, West Va.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Randy Moore, Jerry Windsor, Phelix Johnson, Wayne Windsor, Gary Clark, Sid Moore and Josh Head. A former resident of Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Workman was a native of Vivian, West Virginia, born April 25, 1928, son of Henry M. and Grace Angle Workman. He was a WWII Army veteran and a retired truck driver with Florida Rock Orange Park. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
