"Russell Clinton Hawks, 65, of Rockridge, WV, departed this life September 23, 2015, for his heavenly home following a short illness."Russell was a 1967 graduate of Iaeger High School and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an electronics technician and in the sawmills of Florida before retiring to the hills of Rockridge where he was born and raised. He very much enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his nephew, Timothy Foley.
"In addition to his parents, John Harvey Hawks and Flora Alice Hawks, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Neva Hawks Cooper, one brother, William Hawks, sisters, Gwendolyn Hawks Hocevar, Nancy Ellen Vance, Clara Evelina Blevins, Wilma Hawks Deskins, Gertrude Hawks Foley, and Anges Hawks Kennedy. Russell is survived by two sons, Dale Clinton Hawks of North Carolina and Chad Clinton Hawks of Florida; five grandchildren, Dustin Cooper of Virginia Beach, VA, Corey Cooper of Asheville, NC, Kacie Cooper of Denver, NC, Dakota Cooper of Lincolnton, NC, and Joseph Dotson of Hurley, VA; sisters, Mary Hawks Foley and Margie Hawks Asbury both of Jolo, WV; brothers, James Hawks of Missouri and Dallas Hawks of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
