"Charles Dean Stover, 89, of Parkersburg (formerly of Welch, WV) passed away July 12, 2023 at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center."He was born April 29, 1934 in Kingston, WV, a son of the late Sherman French Stover and Carrie Stiltner Stover Weaver. Dean graduated from Gary High School in 1953 and served honorably in the US Army. In 1958, Dean wed Nancy Lee Mullins and they enjoyed 63 years of married life before her passing in May 2022. He also began working for Appalachian Power Co. in 1958 and retired after 38 years of service. Dean made many dear friends during his time with Appalachian.
"Dean accepted Christ as his Savior during his teen years and was a faithful servant throughout the remainder of his life. He indicated to his family that when he died, he wanted everyone to know he loved God more than anything. Dean loved attending worship services and especially loved to sing praises to his Lord. He had faithfully attended the Harvest Center Ministries while living in Welch.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved daughter Rhonda Stover (formerly of Welch) and son Gary Stover (Lisa), both of Parkersburg, WV; his two grandchildren, Nathan Stover (Selena) and Sara Work (Jake), both of Parkersburg; his great-grandson, Colt Work, of Parkersburg. Dean absolutely loved being Papaw and more recently great-Papaw. He also leaves behind step-sister Juanita Burcham of TX, sisters-in-laws Jane Stover of Wichita Falls, TX; Patty (Pat) Wyatt of Welch, WV; Brenda Sigmon and brother-in-law Bud (Emily) Mullins both of Princeton, WV. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, all of whom he dearly loved.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dean was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles “Fred” and Belle Stiltner; father and mother-in-law Roby and Mae Mullins of Welch, WV; sisters, Loretta Stover and June Murray, brother Douglas Stover, all of Wichita Falls, TX, and brother-in-law Ken Sigmon of Pineville, WV; Dean was also preceded in death by many special uncles, aunts, and cousins that he grew up with in WV and KY."Dean’s family would like to thank Dr. Hamirani and the staff at Davita Kidney Care for their kind and compassionate care, which allowed Dean to enjoy an additional 6 months of quality life.

An untold number of lives were touched and changed for the better for having known her.

"Debra Lynn Taylor, 64, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, in Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, WV."Debra was born August 15, 1957, in Welch, WV, a daughter of Glennis Bailey Blankenship and the late Chilton Blankenship. Debra was a member of the Horse Creek Church of God. She was a high honor student, graduating in the top 10 of her class, from Iaeger High School. Debra was a homemaker; an author of a cookbook and a foster parent to 14 children. She was a doll collector and enjoyed making crafts. Debra was a manager for Avon and was in the top ten in sales for her region. Debra loved making jewelry and primitive crafts and was an inhouse artist for Wolf Creek Indian Village.
"Debra was preceded in death by her father, Chilton Blankenship; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Bertha Blankenship, maternal grandparents, Harry and Hazel Bailey and two uncles, Harley Bailey and Earnest Dean Bailey.
"Survivors include her husband, Danny Taylor of the home; her mother, Glennis Blankenship of Welch, WV; one sister, Jennifer Estep of Clover, SC; and three nephews, Chad Estep of Bluefield, WV, Chilton Kevin Estep and wife Haley of Rock Hill, SC, and Cameron Estep of Clover, SC.
"Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 1 o’clock with Reverend John Wheeler officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Vance Cemetery at Trap Fork near Panther, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
