"William Richard Cooper, 59, of Bartley, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at his residence. William was born March 5, 1962, in Welch WV, a son of the late Clark and Helen Mullins Cooper. He was a construction worker and loved to hunt. In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Seymore, one brother, Oscar Michael Cooper and two nieces, Rebecca Wood and Tammy Bowman. Survivors include his companion of 13 years, Donna Fontaine of the home; five sisters, Thelma Hagerman of Bartley, Dorothy Miller of Rock, Brenda Blankenship of Tennessee, Jenny Meadows of Virginia and Cindy Stacy of Jolo; and a special nephew, Oscar Michael Cooper Jr. of Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 12 o’clock with Reverend Roger Pete Woods and Reverend Thomas Dunford officiating at the Jesus Church of Bartley in Bartley, WV. Burial will follow in the Deskins Cemetery on Atwell Mountain near Atwell, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends may visit with the family at the Jesus Church of Bartley Friday evening, October 15, 2021 after 6 p.m. In respect to the rise in Covid cases in our area we ask that safety measures be taken, such as the wearing of mask and social distancing. "Isaac C. Snead, 64, of Bluefield, died Monday evening at 7 o'clock in the state hospital at Spencer,
where he had been a patient since December 18.
"Mr Snead was born July 10, 1882 in Washington county, Va., a son of Charles and Rachel Snead.
"He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Underwood Wright Snead, a daughter Mrs. Pauline
Mandakunis, of Eckman, a son, george L. Snead, of Bluefield, a veteran of World War II, and two
step-daughters, Mrs. Goldie Surface, of Bluefield, and Mrs. Lera Painter, of Eckman.
"Mr. Snead formaly resided at Matoaka and was a trackman for the Atwater Coal company at
Hiwatha. He had been residing in Bluefield for the past two years. The Snead family resides at 1694
Franklin street.
" The body will arrive in Bluefield this morning and will be taken to the Mercer Funeral home,
where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in
