"Rickey Lee Clevenger, 57, of Coon Branch near Iaeger, WV, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022."Rickey was born November 28, 1964 in Iaeger, WV, a son of Barbara Brown Clevenger and the late Otis Clevenger. Rickey was a very loving and giving person; he never met a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh. Rickey was a graduate of Iaeger High School where he was a member of the Iaeger Cubs football team. Rickey enjoyed singing and was a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan.
"In addition to his father, Otis Clevenger, Rickey was preceded in death by an infant brother, Johnny Otis Clevenger and an infant sister, Robin Mashell Clevenger; his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Margie Clevenger and his maternal grandparents, Arnold and Pearl Brown.
"Survivors include one son, Cody Clevenger and wife Kim of Lexington, NC; his mother, Barbara Clevenger of Iaeger; two sisters, Renee Jones and husband Calvin and Angela Branham and husband Bobby all of Iaeger, WV; one brother, Aaron Clevenger and wife CJ of Iaeger; four nieces, Katie Lester and husband Eric, Amanda MacMenamin, Erin Clevenger and Emma Clevenger all of Iaeger; one great niece, Leah Lester; and three great nephews, Kai Lester, Gabriel Kennedy and Lukas Tuell; and special friends, Dillon Robinette and Chelsea McCroskey.
"Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Daniel Dean officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery on Coon Branch Mountain near Iaeger, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Clevenger, Jeffrey Mullins, Gary Clevenger, Eric Lester, Gene Poplin, Mark Wade, Greg Cline and Dillon Robinette.
