"Howard “Hurley” Workman, 95, of Welch, WV, went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2021 at 11:05 pm. Hurley was born on March 14, 1926 to the late Zachary Workman and Sarah Burks Workman. He was brother to Ettie, Gladys, Lizzie, May, Coral, Jack, Okey, Clifford, Henry, Ballard, and Carl Workman. In addition to his parents, Hurley was preceded in death by his sons Howard Workman and Danny Workman, daughter Katherine Workman, and grandchildren Joe Workman, Hope Scott, Heather Scott, and Rose Workman. Those left to cherish his memory include sons Donald (Susan), Carl (Patty), Steve (Sherri), Billy, and David Workman and daughters Betty Scott, Anna (Mark) Scott, Sherri Workman, and Alisha Workman. Hurley was blessed with 22 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Hurley was a construction worker for Corte Construction and was a police officer for the City of Keystone in McDowell County, WV. Friends may gather with the family at Fanning Funeral Home in Welch, WV on Saturday November 20, 2021 at 11:00 am. The service will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor Gerald McKinney officiating.
