"On an unusually beautiful and warm day, November 8, 2020, Kimberly Anthony Riffe began his journey into the mystic. He followed closely behind his beloved cousin Robbie (Robert Hagerman) as well as his idol and big brother Jim (James Rife), oldest sister Libby, (Elizabeth Riffe) and Docie, (Theodocia Riffe)."Kim was born and raised in Jolo, WV to Patsy (Hagerman) Riffe and James Riffe on August 14, 1956. He was the youngest of 11 and as the tale goes his feet didn’t touch the ground until he was 3 because he was always on a beloved sisters hip. Kim lead a life full of laughter, adventure and love. As a teen he hitch hiked from Indiana to West Virginia. He would jump on a train just to see where it was going or ride the hood of a car like a sled down a mountain. Kim also served in the US Army. He was a true Gypsy and gifted storyteller and poet. He was also a skilled drywall man who would brag about his work when you passed an old job site. He declared he had the cleanest cuts and little waste. Kim enjoyed drawing, fishing, motorcycles, playing the guitar and creating mischief. Kim believed in rain dances, the healing power of the mountains and the magic of love. He had a close relationship with nature and animals, he was called a horse whisperer on more than one occasion. Kim was known for his pranks, his coveted biscuits and gravy and charm.
"He will be missed by many. Of those, his devoted and caring sisters, Bonnie Riffe Sparks, Kay Riffe Bailey, Phyllis Profitt, “Dot” Dorothy Rife Hoskins, Kathy Allen, Donna Rife; his brother Brandon Riffe; his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, innumerable cousins and lifelong friends whom he loved dearly. Kim was a proud great grand pap to Jaxon, grand pap to Justin, Darius, Liddell and his sweet little miss June. Kim’s greatest love of his life were his daughters, Holly Vaughan, Clysta Bell, (Clysta Riffe Barnes), Cas, (Cassie Riffe Irwin) and BoBo, (Corinne Riffe Rabee). His daughters wish to extend a special mention of gratitude to Annie Sparks for her kindness in serving as an aide and friend to their father.
