He was a lifetime resident of English WV. He attended Big Creek High School and was a 1948 graduate. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He was married to Louise Coleman, August 7, 1951 who passed away in 2016. He worked for Appalachian Power Company in Welch, WV for 37 years.
