"Lillian Steele, 84 yrs old of Lindside, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her infectious laugh, quick wit and the ability to make friends with anyone she met."She was born in Roderfield, West Virginia on July 11, 1930 to Ellis and Jenny Burks McCoy. She was preceded in death by both her parents, as well as her husband of 62 years, Boyd and an infant daughter, Barbara England. Also, brothers, Fred McCoy, Ellis McCoy, Jr., Charles McCoy, Earl Richard McCoy, Eddie McCoy and sisters, Laura Nutten, Dorothy Hatfield and Maggie Ellen McCoy. Ms. Steele was formerly employed with the Monroe County Council on Aging before retirement.

" Douglas L. Lester, 68, of Steeles, WV, went home to be with our Lord and Savior September 2, 2022."Douglas was born May 18, 1954 in Baileysville, WV, a son of Lavy Davis and the late Limmie Lester. Douglas was a member of the Pads Fork Freewill Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family; he enjoyed helping people in his community and never met a stranger. Douglas enjoyed being in the woods and hunting. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Douglas was a United States Army Veteran; he was stationed in Germany during the Cold War; he also was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Rocky Mount Elk Foundation.
"In addition to his father, Limmie Lester, Douglas was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Lester (Edwinna), a sister, Linda Workman (David) a half sister, Shirley Lester (James), and a half brother, Jack Lester (Bea).
