"JOE B. HARMON, 70, of 726 Calvert St., Charlestown, Md., died Sunday of heart failure in Union Hospital, Elkton, where he was a patient. Mr. Harmon retired in the 1950s as a coal miner in War, W.Va. He moved to Charlestown in the early 1980s. His wife, Goldie Brewster Harmon, died in 1981. He is survived by four sons, Datsie and Joseph Burlen, both of War, Milton of Richlands, Va., and Stacey Franklin of Charlestown; five daughters, Joann Smith, with whom he lived, Wanda Harmon and Kathy Harmon, both of North East, and Wilma Mullins and Diane Johnson, both of Richlands, and several brothers, sisters and grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Douglas Funeral Home, War, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Va."
