"ROCKVIEW — Martha Lou Johnson-May, 87, of Rockview, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, in Princeton Community Hospital."Born July 3, 1918, at Itmann, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Tom" Jacob Johnson (1885-1954) and Etta Fines-Johnson (Deceased); sister of Pinkney "Paul" Johnson (1908-1958), Posey Johnson (1910-1964), Luther Johnson (Deceased), Alma Virginia Johnson-Edwards (1913-1999), Elmer Johnson (Deceased), Thomas C. Johnson (Deceased), William C. Johnson (Deceased), Willie Steele "Hoover" Johnson (1928-2006), and Etta Johnson-Morgan.
"Mrs. May was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County. She was a homemaker and a member of Rockcastle Baptist Church.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony James May (Deceased) and Ronnie Joe May (Deceased); two daughters, Alma Louetta May (Deceased) and Carol Sue May-Hargis (1946-2006); and a granddaughter, Sherry Dawn Cook (Deceased).
"Survivors include two daughters, Martha A. May-Cook and her husband, Dale, of Creedmoor, N.C.; three brothers, Clay Johnson of Lindside, Hoover Johnson of Rockview and Chester Johnson of Rockview; a sister, Ettie Johnson-Morgan of Fredericksburg, Va.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
