Beckley following a long illness.
"Born Feb. 27, 1924, at Rockview, he was the son of the late Elonzo and Icie Workman Stewart.
"Mr. Stewart worked for Eastern Associated Coal Corp. as a general mine foreman for 35 years and
attended Cook Memorial Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family, friends and especially
his grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Gunter Stewart; a daughter,
Brenda Bias; a brother, Claren Stewart; two sisters, Marie Scott and Audie Evans; and a special friend,
Eileen Tilley.
"Survivors include a son, Robert Dennis Stewart and his wife, Karen, of Pineville; a daughter, Cathy
