"Roscoe was an employee of a cotton mill making carpet and yarn in North Carolina.
In addition to his adoptive parents, he was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Barton Hicks and his father Harlen Hicks.

"Those left to cherish his memories are one son, Jason Barton and fiancé Victoria Cash of South Point; one daughter, Lisa Chapman of Newhall; one brother, Wayne Barton and wife Susie of Linwood, NC; one sister, Darlene Linkous and husband William of Rocky Gap; Geraldine Johnson his aunt/sister of Newhall; grandchildren, Zackary Chapman and Ashley Chapman and several nieces and nephews.

"James Ray Ingole, Sr. went to his heavenly reward on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 10:05 p.m. while resting peacefully at the McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV. He was 96 years old. He was preceded in death by parents Ray and Jonsey Ingole, stepmother Lottie Ingole, sister Louise Ingole Smith, and wife Billie Jean Mayhew Ingole. Jim was born on February 11, 1926, at Grace Hospital in Welch, WV. He grew up in Hemphill, WV and graduated from Welch High School. At the age of 16, he volunteered to serve in the US Navy. All his adult life, he was a dedicated supporter of the American Legion and a living reminder that our freedom and prosperity come with a price. Jim and Billie Jean were devoted, faithful partners for life. Together they built a home and reared their children in Welch, WV. They were loving and supportive parents, grand-parents, and great grandparents.As co-owner of Industrial Bearings and Supply, Inc., Jim maintained a reputation of excellence for servicing and repairing coal mining equipment in the surrounding area. As a member of the Lions Club, he lived out his belief in changing the world by serving the needs of his local community with compassion, kindness, and care. As a councilman for the city of Welch, his wisdom and insight frequently were utilized in decisions and decision-making processes related to the city’s actions on behalf of the community. Jim was a member of the United Methodist Church in Welch. He enjoyed singing in the choir and helping to maintain the building and grounds. He was known as one who could fix just about anything in or around the facility.

"He is survived by two daughters, Debra (Debbie) Richardson of Summerville, SC, Barbara (Bobbie) Oliver (husband, C.D.) of Lewisburg, WV and one son, James Ray Ingole, Jr., of Bandy, VA; grandchildren Lisa Bales Miller (husband, Lee) of Thompson Station, TN, Wayne Richardson of Danbury, CT, and Morgan Rae Ingole Kites of Bristol, TN; great grand-children Nolan Miller, Grayson Miller, Ellison Miller, Zachary Richardson, and Brayden Richardson. The viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel in Princeton, WV. The Reverend Brad Davis will conduct a celebration of life service at 10:45 a.m. in the chapel, with the grave-side committal service to follow.

Billie Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Welch, where she was also a member of the Methodist Women; Billie Jean was also a member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, P.C. Mayhew and O.H. "Darlene was born October 27, 1951 to the late Dovie and Daniel Brewster of Newhall. She graduated from Big Creek High School with the class of 1970. She was affiliated with the True Church of God in Newhall. She worked as a clerk in War for many years. Her friendly manner and gift of conversation engaged customers easily. Most recently she was a devoted homemaker and loving caretaker for her mother. Darlene was a kind and helpful friend who never met a stranger. She was a precious asset to the family and will be missed greatly.
"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Lonnie Brewster, Hershel Brewster, and Buddy Brewster; sisters Kathern and Greta; and sister-in-law Jewell Click
