"Catherine Blevins Billings, 85 of Welch, West Virginia passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, in the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Gary, West Virginia."Catherine was born January 5, 1937, in Maitland, West Virginia, a daughter of Guy and Mary Polce. Catherine was employed with Gianato Pontiac Buick for several years and served as McDowell County Sheriff. Catherine was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Welch, The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 8, Welch and Welch Kiwanis Club.
"In addition to her parents, Guy and Mary Polce, Catherine was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Blevins; her second husband, Delmer Frank Billings; two brothers: Guy Polce and Jim Polce; and a sister, Elizabeth Hamby.
"Survivors include one sister, Rosie (Jim) Coomes, Bluefield, West Virginia and one brother, William (Ellie) Polce, Asheville, North Carolina. Catherine is also survived by three stepsons: Delmer Billings, Anthony Billings, Chris Billings and one stepdaughter, Barbara Billings Albertson.
"The family would like to thank the caregivers at McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and a special thanks to Dot Morgan for all the care she provided to our dear sister during her recent illness.
