"Johnny Mack Lester, 65, of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Bristol Regional Medical Center."Johnny was born August 21, 1954, in Paynesville, WV, a son of the late Earl Lester and Beulah McClanahan Lester. He was a heavy equipment operator and was a loving father and grandfather. He was a professional musician and had a strong sense of Humor; he played in various bands, including Caiged Angel.
"In addition to his parents Johnny was preceded in death by a daughter, Miranda Lester; and several brothers and sisters: Ronnie Lester, Donita Brewer, Phyllis Frost, Jennifer Lester, Freddie Lester, and Henry Lester.
"Survivors include one daughter, Rachel Lester of Bandy, VA; grandchildren, Kaylee Coburn of Bandy, VA, and Acacia and Jessie Lester of Paynesville, WV; one brother, Billy Lester of Paynesville, WV, and one sister Loretta Sweeney of Boone, North Carolina.
"Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 1 o’clock with Pastor Hobert Kennedy officiating at the Crossview Church of Christ on Stateline Ridge near Paynesville, WV. Burial will follow in the Lester Cemetery at Paynesville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
"Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening, July 7, 2020 after 6 p.m. at the Crossview Church of Christ. Evening services will be held at 7 p.m.
