"Eddie Ray was born November 2, 1946, at Meadow Bluff in Greenbrier County WV. He was a retired coal truck owner /operator. He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and loved fishing and riding his four-wheeler.

"Walden “Walt” Parker, 84, of Iaeger, WV, passed away, Wednesday, January 6, 2020, in Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV."Walt was born October 25, 1936, in Van Lear, KY, a son of the late Floyd and Vella Parker. He attended Iaeger High School. In 1956 Walt married his sweetheart Janice (Stacy) Parker and joined the United States Navy. Walt served at Oceana Naval Aviation and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Tarawa CVS 40 ASW Homeport, Norfolk, VA and Quonset Point, RI Naval Air Station. Throughout his life, Walt worked in the coal mining industry. He worked at US Steel as a mine supervisor in Gary, WV. He also worked at US Steel #50 in Pineville, WV. His expertise was in underground mining ventilation. Walt was deployed to US Steel Decatur, AL on several occasions to address underground mine ventilation.
"Walt was a selfless person and enjoyed family. He and his wife Janice welcomed two cousins and a nephew into their home to help raise them to adulthood. He and his wife orchestrated many fun beach trips for family and friends. Walt enjoyed serving on the Iaeger Town council, playing golf, reading Westerns authored by Louis L’Amour and his cats.
"In addition to his parents and his brothers, Bob, John, and Jimmy, he was preceded in death by his wife Janice (Stacy) Parker; his son Walden Robin Parker; nephew Eddie Ray Stacy, Jr.; and two great nephews Zachary Stacy and Cody Heard.

"Janice was born September 28, 1938 in Panther, WV a daughter of the late Lucas and Maggie Vance Stacy. She graduated from Iaeger High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart, Walt Parker the same year. Throughout her life, Janice was employed at Sayer Brother, Hall's Market, Gopher Mining of S.J. Groves Construction Co., and as a bookkeeper at Stepp's Exxon Service Station. She was a member of the Iaeger Jr. Women's Club and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Janice was a selfless person, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She displayed her generous spirit and dedication to the family by welcoming two cousins and a nephew into her home and raising them to adulthood. She and her husband Walt orchestrated many fun beach trips for family and friends. Janice was happiest when we could all be together.
