"Eva Gay Epps, 73, of Roderfield, W.Va., died Sunday (Oct. 21, 2007) at the McDowell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gary, W.Va. She had been a patient there since February 2004 following a stroke.

"She was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Roderfield, W.Va., a daughter of the late John P. Puckett and the late Sylvia Lenavi Dillon West.

"Mrs. Epps was a residential student of the West Virginia State School for the Blind in Romney. She graduated in 1953 and the following year married Jack Sprinkle. Following their divorce in 1960, she moved to Chicago where she worked as a Dictaphone operator and married Everett Oddie. In 1969 she moved to Batavia where her husband taught piano tuning at the New York State School for the Blind from 1969 to 1976. She enjoyed entertaining his students and her close friends. In 1976 she moved to Macon, Ga.; 13 days after her move her husband Everett died. The following year she married Robert Epps of Sparta, Ga.

"She was the stepdaughter of the late Maston West.

"Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Epps of Roderfield, W.Va.; her son, Paul Sprinkle of Batavia; two half-brothers, Martin (Georgia) West and Benny (Patricia) West, all of Roderfield, W.Va.; and three half-sisters, Martha (Doug) Muncy of Roderfield, Anna Laura Richmond of Hinton, W.Va., and Mary Lynn (Thurman) Mullins of Raleigh, N.C.

"Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, W.Va., where her funeral services will be at 1, with the Rev. Russell Kin officiating. Burial will follow in the Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield, W.Va. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.,,,"
