"Johnnie Eugene Beavers, Sr., 56, of Jolo, WV, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, at the home of his son in Grundy, VA."Johnnie was born August 14, 1959 in Welch, WV, a son of the late Clarence Emory and Ida Baker Beavers. He worked for Johnny Eller and Bill Salter as a mechanic at their gas station in Jolo, WV, before becoming an EMT in 1990 and later a Paramedic in 1995. He served 20 plus years in the medical field. He worked for McDowell County Ambulance Authority, Southern WV EMS and numerous other ambulance companies. His passions were his sons, motorcycles, old cars, wood working, and Nascar, Bill Elliot being his favorite driver. Johnnie also liked to fish and hunt with a bow. He was of the Pentecostal Faith and recently became saved.
"In addition to his parents Johnnie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Preacher Andrew (Andy) Baker and Cloia Baker and step grandmother Siller Baker, paternal grandparents, James Robert Beavers and Rosa Marie McCoy Beavers, and two brothers-in-law, Vester Vance and Bill Webb.

"Glen Edward Vance, 83, of Beartown, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ August 15, 2021 within his home surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends after a long faithful battle with pancreatic cancer."Glen was born April 17, 1938, in Jewell Ridge, VA, a son of the late Myrtle Hagerman Vance and George Edward Vance. He was an assistant pastor at the Followers of Christ-House of Prayer Church in Paynesville, WV. He sang, praised, and served the Lord as a Christian for 46 years and there was nothing he loved more than church on Sundays. He was a former coal miner, retired in 1973. He loved and enjoyed farming, gardening, working with his livestock, squirrel hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Glen also loved to raise, ride and show Standardbred horses with his sons and grandkids.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Hershel and Vester Vance; and one sister, Nancy Vance Banners.
