"Audrey Blevins Simpkins, 84, of Welch, WV, formerly of the Jolo area passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV."Audrey was born July 16, 1931, in Atwell, WV, a daughter of the late Robert and Elma Gross Blevins. She was a homemaker, an Emergency Medical Technician and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Audrey was the mother of seven children, Joetta, Irene, Delilah, Wade Allen, Andy Ray, Ira Roosevelt, and Michael Dean.
'In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Tolbert I. Simpkins, a son, Michael D. Simpkins, one sister, Delilah Payne, three brothers, Nathan Blevins, Sr., Oliver Blevins, and Hubert Blevins, and two grandsons, Tolbert A. Roberts, and Ruben J. Jones.
"Survivors include three daughters, Joetta Jones and husband Wilson of Avondale, WV, Cledith Jones and companion Robert Mills of Welch, WV, Delilah and Robert Jones of Cleveland, NC; three sons, Wade A. Simpkins of Boston, MA, Andy Ray Simpkins and wife Bonnie of Baltimore, MD, Ira R. "Lonnie Mullins, 78, of Raysal, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at his residence following a brief illness.
"Lonnie was born March 29, 1938 in Raysal, WV, a son of the late Tom and Laura Bell Rowe Mullins. He was a former corrections Officer at Keene Mountain Correctional Facility and a former coal miner at Olga Coal Company. Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an active member of both the Bradshaw American Legion Post 175 and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 1144 in Iaeger. He was also a member of the Old Country Church at Raysal and a lifelong resident of Raysal.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Mullins; two brothers, Jesse James Mullins and Andy Mullins; three sisters, Goldie Sexton, Nora Johnson, and Tommy "Dixie" Christian; and a step son Eugen Allen Honaker.
